ALAMO CHAPTER OF THE FEDERAL CRIMINAL INVESTIGATORS ASSOCIATION SCHOLARSHIP
Award: Disbursed in two equal payments for fall and spring semesters

  • Applicants must be transferring from a college of Alamo Community College District (ACCD), where they were recipients of the Federal Criminal Investigators Association (Alamo Chapter) Scholarship in their final semester before transferring to UTSA. Transferring prospective recipients must contact UTSA student Financial Aid and Enrollment Services to ensure an award will be reserved in their name.
  • In order to maintain eligibility, prospective recipients must transfer to UTSA the fall or spring semester following their completion of the ACCD program.
  • In the event there are no eligible transfer recipients, UTSA may select a recipient from currently enrolled students otherwise meeting the selection criteria.
  • Must have a minimum of 2.7 cumulative GPA
  • Must be undergraduate students enrolled full-time (minimum of 12 hours), have declared criminal justice as their major and are actively pursuing a degree at UTSA
  • Must demonstrate financial need as determined by the FAFSA

BORDER PATROL AGENT RICARDO SALINAS CRIMINAL JUSTICE MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP
Award: Funds distributed from the endowment shall be used each year to provide a scholarship(s) equal to the cost of the tuition and fees as determined by the FAFSA, or up to the amount of funds distributed annually from the endowment, whichever is lower.

  • Must be enrolled full time (minimum of at least 12 hours) as an undergraduate actively pursing a degree at UTSA
  • Must be a citizen or resident alien of the United States
  • Must be a junior or senior majoring in criminal justice
  • Must have a 2.5 GPA
  • Must demonstrate by written statement, a commitment to the law enforcement profession as well as a commitment to hard work and dedication
  • Must not have been found guilty of a felon criminal offense under state or federal law
  • Must demonstrate financial need as determined by the FAFSA
  • Selection of the recipient will be made by the UTSA Scholarship Committee, or its successor
  • Notification of the selected recipient and his/her academic progress will be made in writing to the donors or their successors annually

COPP-THE USAA FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIP
Award: The number and amount varies

  • Must be incoming freshman with a minimum 3.0 cumulative high school GPA
  • Must be criminal justice major enrolled full time with a minimum of 3 hours in the College of Public Policy at the time of the award
  • Must demonstrate financial need as determined by the FAFSA
    • Application Requirement: Completed College of Public Policy Scholarship application and a one-page statement as described on the application
    • Deadline: Feb. 15

UNDERGRADUATE SCHOLARSHIPS: BACHELOR OF ARTS IN CRIMINAL JUSTICE
Award: Varies

  • Must be in good standing with UTSA
  • Must be full time undergraduate student
  • Must have Criminal Justice as their declared major
  • Must be enrolled in at least 12 credit hours during the scholarship semester at UTSA
  • Must have a GPA of 3.0 or higher
  • Entering freshmen must demonstrate academic potential by having a minimum SAT score of 1090 and/or a minimum ACT score of 24 and have a cumulative high school GPA of at least 3.0 or higher
  • Must submit a typed personal statement (300-500 words, double- spaced) to identify personal and/or professional goals, the role of the scholarship in the attainment of these goals, contributions to UTSA, and any other information that may help the committee make a scholarship decision
  • Must be a resident of Texas
    • Application requirement: Application available from department office

GRADUATE SCHOLARSHIP: MASTER OF SCIENCE IN JUSTICE POLICY
Award: Varies

  • Must be in good standing with UTSA
  • Must be enrolled as a degree-seeking student pursuing the Master of Science degree in Justice Policy at UTSA
  • Must be enrolled in 9 or more credit hours of graduate course work under the justice policy curriculum
  • Must be enrolled in core courses if one is offered during the semester of the award, unless all core courses have been successfully completed
  • Must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher
  • Must submit a typed personal statement (300-500 words, double- spaced) to identify personal and professional goals, the role of the scholarship in the attainment of their goals, and any other information that may help the committee make a scholarship decision
  • Must be a resident of Texas
    • Application requirement: Application available from department office
    • Deadline: February 15
