Scholarships from Outside UTSA

There are many scholarship opportunities beyond those offered by UTSA. These scholarships are grouped into 2 main groups:

Recipients of outside scholarships will be notified by the organization about their award. Students are to inform the Financial Aid and Scholarships office of who is issuing the scholarship, the dollar amount and the duration.

Scholarship funds from these sources are distributed in the form of a paper check via mail either directly to the student, or to the Financial Aid and Scholarships office at UTSA.

If a check is mailed directly to the recipient, the student is required to inform UTSA of the scholarship amount by submitting an External Scholarship Notification Form.

Checks received by UTSA will be added to the student’s financial aid award package and applied to the account, however, funds from outside sources may affect other financial aid you have been awarded from UTSA.

Federal regulations require all aid to fit within the student’s Cost of Attendance (COA) so awards will be adjusted accordingly. For more information regarding Cost of Attendance, visit:

Outside Scholarship Opportunities
