3rd Annual Campus Crawl - October 22, 2009 - continued...

Laurel Village hosted the House Party @ LV. The house party had drinks and food for residents to see the risk of alcohol abuse in a large crowded group setting. The couches were full and the TV was blaring like a typical house party. Residents enjoyed hanging out and relaxing. As the party wound down at the LV, a mob of residents crawled over to Chaparral Village.

The Chap Crew hosted the Rave Cave. One the neighborhoods centers was blacked out and turned into a club. Black lights and a plethora of glow sticks, necklaces, and bracelets livened the place up. The message at the Rave Cave related to the club scene and mixing alcohol and club drugs together. Residents danced to club music and enjoyed a variety of refreshments. Closing down the Rave Cave, the resident then headed to Chisholm Hall for the final party.

After a party at Laurel and Chaparral Village, the crawl ended at the Hall-ucinations House Party at Chisholm Hall. There was beer pong, quarters, dancing, music, food, and more. Residents were educated about sexual health and the dangers of combining alcohol and sex. Residents were taught about the dangers of drinking games and over consumption. Towards the end of the party, residents were being "kidnapped" into the theater. The party ended with residents being asked who was missing their friends. People raised their hands and then the kidnapped were ushered out of the theater. The participants were educated about personal responsibility and accountability. They need to watch out for their friends and not let them be in a compromising situation. The AC was packed with over 200 students.

The night ended with a late-night breakfast hosted at the Chaparral City Center. Student Judicial Affairs Staff were present to hand out t-shirts and have students complete evaluations. UTSA Police were present at each party, also. The residents had a blast and learned a lot about different alcohol related environments and the dangers associated with those situations. Well over 300 residents participated. Congratulations to the planning committee for a great job planning the event: Audrey Lallier, Kelsey Bratcher, Lennon Prothro-Jones, Em Delarosa and Curtis Odle. Kudos also for the RA staffs from each community for putting on each of the parties.
