Student Leadership Center Hosts Storytelling Series: Men in Leadership Luncheon



Participants included a diverse mix of students and administrators from all levels of leadership. This special version of the luncheon also included distinguished members of the San Antonio business community including; Ed Cantu - Director, Consumer Insights and Planning - Lopez Negrete Communications, Curtis Anastasio - Chief Executive Officer, President and Director NuStar Energy, Norman L. Jacobson - Physician, Community Advocate, Entrepreneur, Mark Scarnato - Retail Manager - T-Mobile, Ernest Bromley - Chairman & CEO Bromley Communications, Diego Bernal - City Councilman, District 1 City of San Antonio, Vince Davis - Reporter San Antonio Express News, Policy Director, Mr. Hector Morales for District 1, and Art Flores - Vice President ArtCom Communications.

Also sharing their leadership stories were over 44 UTSA students and nine members of the UTSA administration including: UTSA President Dr. Ricardo Romo, Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs John Frederick, Associate Vice President and Dean of Students Kevin Price, Associate Dean of Students John Kaulfus, Associate Vice President for Development Eric Gentry, Dean for the College of Engineering Mauli Agrawal, University Center Business Manager Herb Ganey, Director for Student Success in the College of Business Center for Student Professional Development Julio Ramos, and Director for Outdoor Pursuits Eliot Howard. Among the student attendees were the nine students that facilitated the discussion at each table. These facilitators took the lead role in guiding the discussion around leadership styles, qualities and experiences. The facilitators included; Matthew Guevara, DeMarcus Lewis, Sean Harris, BJ Winston, Jerome Scott, Bryan Barahona, Harrison Pierce, Charles Miles, and Daniel Rossiter.
