TSI Registration Holds
A student whose scores on the TSI Assessment indicate that he or she has not met the minimum standards set by the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board in one or more of the three areas of reading, writing, and mathematics will have a TSI hold placed on his or her record and must participate in the UTSA Developmental Education Program.
Students with TSI holds may not register for classes using the ASAP system, and must see an academic advisor to have their course schedules approved and to register for classes. These students register in person at their appropriate advising center according to the time given for their student classification. Newly admitted freshmen register at their freshmen orientation program.
Students required to participate in the UTSA Developmental Education Program may not exit the program until they have fulfilled all the requirements of the program and may not drop a developmental activity during the semester. Developmental education activities will not count toward any degree at UTSA.
