| UTSA's growing research and sponsored programs reflect the university's commitment to become a top-tier research institution. The newly opened $10.6 million Margaret Batts Tobin Laboratory Building Houses numerous biology labs, a computer media center, and UTSA's research focus on emerging infectious diseases. The College of Engineering conducts research in structural and information security, transportation issues, biomaterials, biomechanics, robotics, and sustainability issues.
