UTSA community invited to Week of Welcome activities

(Aug. 20, 2003)--The UTSA Week of Welcome is a way to connect with the UTSA community and to bring in the news academic year. The week features a variety of events, free food and opportunities to meet UTSA students, faculty and staff, and all events are free and open to the UTSA community.

The administrators are Ricardo Romo, president; Sonia Martinez, vice president for university advancement; Rosalie Ambrosino, vice president for student affairs; and Guy Bailey, provost and vice president for academic affairs.

Featured events include the President's Reception and Cook-out, Fall Convocation, Roadrunner Spirit Rally, Wacky Olympics, information tables, international film festival, interfaith gathering, self-defense workshop and advising centers open house. In its second year, the Fall Convocation features a procession of faculty in academic regalia and staff in regalia or the orange and blue UTSA colors. The ceremony will be followed by receptions on the Convocation Center east lawn.
