
UTSA Lyric Theatre performs opera for elementary students
(Sept. 26, 2003)--The UTSA Lyric Theatre welcomed 1,000 elementary school students from four area school districts for a preview performance of the opera "Little Red Riding Hood" Friday at the 1604 Campus.

The presentation is a part of the Opera in the Schools project, which provides learning opportunities for area children.

William McCrary, UTSA assistant professor of music, directed this and another recent production with the guild. The productions collectively brought the world of opera to 2,000 students.
Opera in the Schools is sponsored by the Opera Guild of San Antonio and the City of San Antonio Office of Cultural Affairs.
"Little Red Riding Hood" will be performed for the public at 7 p.m. Nov. 11 in the Arts Building Recital Hall.
