UTSA MBA Association to host first etiquette dinner

(Sept. 10, 2003)--The first annual UTSA MBA Association (MBAA) Etiquette Dinner is 7-9 p.m., Friday, Sept. 12, in the Business Building University Room (2.06.04). With reservations and cocktail attire required, the dinner is open to all and the cost is $30.

Whether making a good impression in a business deal or an interview, the dinner is an opportunity for participants to develop and enhance the skills needed for the typical business dining experience. Maxine Farrimond, special events coordinator for the UTSA Office of the President, will conduct the etiquette training.

Amy Browning, MBAA vice president for business development, took part in such an event last summer in a study abroad program. Browning says the training she received will help her be more comfortable at future business dining events and "made me a more conscientious and courteous person in dining situations."

MBAA, established in 1984, is an organization for graduate students in the UTSA College of Business. The organization is dedicated to maximizing degree-holder wealth through networking opportunities with fellow association members, UTSA faculty and staff, and members of the San Antonio business community, while upholding the goals and standards of UTSA.

For more information, visit the MBAA Web site or contact Peter Morales, MBAA vice president for marketing, at 210-458-5946.
