Volunteers invited to share story of Texas at ITC
(Sept. 3, 2003)--The Institute of Texan Cultures (ITC) volunteer programs team needs volunteers of all ages who enjoy learning and sharing the history of Texas.
"Volunteers have been vital to ITC for more than 25 years, helping in many ways," said Gerry Voisine, director of volunteer programs. "Currently, we need volunteers as outreach volunteers, puppeteers, Back 40 and Exhibit Floor interpreters and gift shop assistants."

Volunteers must be fluent in English, but bilingual skills are helpful, especially in Spanish, German and French.
ITC volunteers reap many benefits, including invitations to exhibit openings plus free admission to exhibits, events and the Texas Folklife Festival, when they are on duty. Volunteers also receive discounts in the ITC store and free parking while volunteering.
Applications will be accepted through Sept. 15 for the next volunteer training sessions, which will be Sept. 22-Oct. 3.
