
UTSA hosts 'Corpus Christi Day' Thursday, Oct. 16
(Oct. 15, 2003)--President Ricardo Romo will proclaim "Corpus Christi Day at UTSA" at 10 a.m., Thursday, Oct. 16, in the John Peace Library Building Assembly Room (4.03.08) on the 1604 Campus. The proclamation reading and reception are open to all.

The event is to recognize UTSA students from Corpus Christi and provide an opportunity to meet Corpus Christi officials including Mayor S. Loyd Neal Jr., Corpus Christi ISD Superintendent Jesus Chavez and representatives of Del Mar College and the Corpus Christi Convention and Visitors Bureau. The proclamation and reception also will be attended by Corpus Christi high school students visiting UTSA for the day.
"San Antonio and Corpus Christi share the belief that education is the key to unlocking the door to future prosperity and socioeconomic success for South Texas," said Romo. "Providing educated workers for Corpus Christi and Texas for this growth is important, and UTSA is committed to doing this."
Additionally, Mayor S. Loyd Neal Jr. will speak on Municipal Management in an Electronic Age at 11 a.m., Oct. 16 in Business Building Room 3.04.18 on the 1604 Campus. The presentation is free and open to all.
