Oct. 15, 16 memorial services set for UTSA technician
(Oct. 14, 2003)--D. Gabriel Hernandez, an audio visual technician since 1999 in UTSA's academic technology office, died last weekend.
Hernandez handled audio visual service requests for the Humanities and Social Sciences Building, the John Peace Library Building and the Convocation Center at the UTSA 1604 Campus.

It was always apparent to co-workers and those he assisted that he enjoyed his job. He was known for his friendliness and helpfulness in providing faculty with technical support and setting up equipment.
Hernandez received numerous compliments from faculty and staff and was honored
April 15, 2003 with a Team
Sprit Award for Technical Support.
"It is with great sorrow that we announce the death of our co-worker
and friend, Gabriel Hernandez," said Lorie
Bennett, administrative services officer for distance learning and
academic technology. "We will miss Gabriel's happy-go-lucky personality
and high level of dedication to UTSA."
Hernandez' family asks that cards be sent to his sister, Patricia Guzman, at 1511 West Houston, San Antonio, Texas 78207.
A rosary will be conducted at 7 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 15, at Max Martinez Mortuary, 2015 W. Martin, 210-227-6281.
Mass and burial ceremonies will be at 10 a.m., Thursday, Oct. 16, at Christ the King Church, 2619 Perez Street, 210-433-6301.
