San Antonio Area Foundation accepting grant proposals
(Oct. 20, 2003)--The 2004 grant applications for the San Antonio Area Foundation (SAAF) are now available online.
The foundation funds projects in the areas of arts and culture, community and human services education, environment, historic preservation, animal services, health care and medical services, visual services and research, and biomedical research.
Completed proposals must be delivered to the UTSA Office of Research Development by Nov. 21, 2003. For proposal guidelines and forms, visit the Office of Research Development or the SAAF Web sites.

If submitting a grant application for visual research or biomedical research, complete the Research Grant application. All other applications should be completed using the Regular Grant application.
Application forms can be filled out online at either Web site. The applications must be submitted both online and by hardcopy with the appropriate number of copies to Reseach Development.
ORD will provide training sessions on how to submit research and grant proposals online. Open to all, the sessions will be in University Center Room 2.01.24, 1604 Campus, at these times:
Research applications, Oct. 22, 9:30-10 a.m.
Grant applications, Oct. 22, 10-10:30 a.m.,
Research applications, Oct. 23, 2-2:30 p.m.
Grant applications, Oct. 23, 2:30-3 p.m.
If you cannot attend one of the training sessions, contact the Office of Research Development at 210-458-4340 to arrange individual training.
Last year the foundation funded 120 of 383 proposals submitted, totaling more than $1.9 million in grants. Applicants are invited to request up to 18 months of support for research projects.
