Athletics names assistant sports information director
(Oct. 8, 2003)--The University of Texas at San Antonio Department of Intercollegiate Athletics announces the hiring of Kyle Stephens as assistant sports information director.
Stephens replaces Bill Petitt, who left in August to become the sports information director at UT Arlington.

Stephens will serve as the primary contact for men's and women's cross country, men's golf, softball, men's and women's tennis, men's and women's track and field, and as editor for UTSA's official Athletics Web site.
Stephens comes to UTSA from UT Austin, where he spent two years as an athletics media relations assistant. At Austin, he was primarily responsible for the men's and women's cross country and track and field programs in addition to assisting with men's and women's basketball, football and men's and women's golf.
Prior to his stint at Texas, Stephens worked as a student and graduate assistant in the sports information office at Texas A&M University, serving as the primary contact for cross country and track and field for two years, and contributing to the daily and game-day operations for a variety of sports including baseball, men's and women's basketball, football and women's soccer.
Originally from Kountze, Texas, Stephens earned a bachelor of science degree in kinesiology with an emphasis in sport management from Texas A&M in May 1998.
