Among the ring recipients this year are Alumni Association President Albert Estrada and Mr. and Ms. UTSA, Andrew Gutierrez and Kristy Pacheco.
Established in 1996, the official UTSA rings has been the ring of choice for more than 1,500 students. Available exclusively to juniors, seniors and alumni, the official UTSA ring is quickly gaining popularity.
"The design of the official ring will never change -- it is the one common bond between those who have graduated in the past and those who will graduate this year and in years to come," said Stephanie Miller, assistant director of alumni programs and coordinator of the ring ceremony.
"We are proud of the strength this tradition is gaining," added Miller. "This ceremony started out in the Regents' Room in the JPL and has grown to one of our largest campus events."
"The ring ceremony is a very personal event for students and their families. For many of our students, getting a diploma is a family affair, so each step closer to that goal is cause for celebration," said Jane Findling, director of alumni programs.
To reserve a space at the ring ceremony, ring recipients can call 210-458-6223.
