UTSA, Texas A&M to meet Dec. 18 at Alamodome
(Dec. 10, 2003)--The UTSA Roadrunners will be shooting for their second straight victory over Texas A&M when the Roadrunners and Aggies meet at 8 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 18 at the Alamodome in downtown San Antonio. The game also will be regionally televised on FOX Sports Southwest.
The UTSA community is encouraged to show its Roadrunner spirit at the game.

UTSA stunned the Aggies last season, scoring an 80-75 victory on Dec. 15 at Reed Arena in College Station. In a game attended by Gov. Rick Perry, Roadrunner senior Ike Akotaobi stole the show, scoring 29 points and pulling down nine rebounds as UTSA scored the victory in the first-ever meeting between the two schools.
The Roadrunners this season are led by senior forward LeRoy Hurd, who led the Southland Conference in scoring last year at 17.6 points per game. The preseason first team all-conference selection has averaged 16.2 points per game as UTSA has started slowly with a 1-5 record this season.
The game at the Alamodome will be the second for UTSA, with the Roadrunners scoring a victory over St. Mary's in their downtown debut last season.
Texas A&M, currently 3-2, is led by Big 12 all-conference performer Antoine Wright. A 6-7 sophomore forward, Wright scored 16 points and pulled down 11 rebounds against UTSA last season.
Tickets for the Dec. 18 showdown are on sale now at all Ticketmaster locations as well as at the Alamodome and UTSA ticket offices. To charge tickets by phone call Ticketmaster at 210-224-9600. Both the Alamodome and UTSA ticket offices are open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday-Friday. Seats are priced at $12 for adults, $8 for children. UTSA students with UTSACard will be admitted free. Viewing suites for the game are available.

UTSA also will host the Blue Santa program at the game. Fans who bring to the game a new toy or canned food item will receive a free ticket to a future Roadrunner home game.
