Student government announces election
(Jan. 13, 2004)--There will be an online general election Feb. 4-5 to elect
the UTSA Student Government Association (SGA) president.
Students interested in running for the position can pick up a candidate packet at the Office of Student Leadership and Cultural Programs in University Center Room 1.02.08 at the 1604 Campus.

The packet includes candidate requirements and an application form.
The deadline to file for candidacy is 5 p.m., Friday, Jan. 23.
"We've got to do whatever we can to have a president elected by at least five percent of the students at UTSA," said Damon Garcia, SGA speaker of the assembly. "The elected president of student government should be representative of what the students want in a student leader, so we encourage all students to vote. We have an opportunity to break the trend of poor voter turnout and lack of student involvement on our campus. Let's just do it!"
Details about online voting will be publicized soon.
