LeRoy Hurd named SLC men's player of week
(Feb. 6, 2004)--After helping The University of Texas at San Antonio to a 2-0 week, LeRoy Hurd was voted Feb. 2 the Southland Conference men's basketball player of the week.

The UTSA senior from Moss Point, Miss., led UTSA to a 2-0 week for the first time this season by averaging 24.5 points and 10.5 rebounds per game.
Hurd, who has eight double-doubles this season, scored 26 points with 12 rebounds in a 95-91 overtime win at Lamar. He came back with a game-high 23 points and nine rebounds in a home win over Nicholls State.
For the week, he shot 14-of-30 (46.6 percent) from the field and 19-of-23 (82.6 percent) from the free throw line. He also had a season-high three blocked shots against Nicholls State.
Following the women's game at 2 p.m., the Roadrunners host SLC foe McNeese State at 4 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 7 in the UTSA Convocation Center on the 1604 Campus. Both games will be televised on Time Warner Cable channel 19 with a tailgate party beginning at 1 p.m.
