UTSA group to host Iraq documentary showings

(Feb. 16, 2004)--The UTSA Progressive Students Organization will present two showings of "Uncovered: The Whole Truth About the Iraq War," a documentary by Robert Greenwald that offers an in-depth look at the U.S. decision to become involved in Iraq.

The film showings are 6 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 19 in Science Building Room 2.01.12 at the 1604 Campus, and 6 p.m., Friday, Feb. 20 in Buena Vista Street Building Room 1.328 at the Downtown Campus.

After the showings, there will be discussions on Iraq and U.S. foreign policy led by Rahul Mahajan, author of "Full Spectrum Dominance: U.S. Power in Iraq and Beyond." Mahajan, who has a Ph.D. in physics from the University of Texas - Austin, serves on the national board of Peace Action, a grassroots peace organization.

The film, completed before the recent discussions about Iraq's weapons of mass destruction, includes interviews with more than 20 government officials and other experts. The interviews are juxtaposed with comments made by President George W. Bush and other administration officials.
