Voting for SGA president extended to Feb. 12

(Feb. 11, 2004)--In order to accommodate students who have only Tuesday/Thursday classes, the UTSA Student Government Association (SGA) has extended the presidential run-off election through 11:59 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 12. The previous deadline was Feb. 11.

The Office of Student Leadership and Cultural Programs (SCLP) will post election results at noon, Friday, Feb. 13.

Students are encouraged to take advantage of the extended deadline and vote online via the ASAP student information system.

For more information, contact SCLP at 210-458-4160 or University Center Room 1.02.08, 1604 Campus.

With a photo finish too close to call, Student Government Association (SGA) presidential candidates Derek Knolton and Ross Langham advanced to the run-off election.

Knolton and Langham both earned more votes than candidates Chris Forbrich and Otis Blanchard, but neither candidate was able to capture the percentage of votes needed for an outright win. The candidate earning the most votes in the run-off will serve as SGA president until the annual elections in April.

The special election was held to replace former SGA President Roger Garza who resigned his post earlier this year.
