Financial aid fair entertains and educates
(March 1, 2004)--UTSA students and staff gathered last week at Sombrilla Plaza on the 1604 Campus for the Las Vegas-themed Financial Aid Fair.

RSS FeedsStudents and staff members visited booths to gather information about financial aid, and were entertained with games, the "Financial Aid Idol" contest, giveaways and prizes from costumed vendors.
Pictured at left is Rochelle Beckford, winner of the 2004 "Financial Aid Idol" contest, who was awarded $500 in scholarship money for her rendition of Aretha Franklin's "Respect." At right, is Lisa Blazer, "former showgirl" and current UTSA assistant vice president of financial aid. Blazer is "smoking" a candy cigarette.
