Bailey was invited to attend the ITC staff meeting, but didn't know she was there to receive the commendation -- given rarely and at the discretion of the ITC chief executive officer.
The commendation included thanks for her prompt and efficient assistance in paying vendors that provide goods and services for the Asian New Year Festival, the Texas Folklife Festival and other ITC events.
Bailey came to UTSA in 1994 and has worked in several positions in business services. She currently works in the disbursements office, which serves the three UTSA campuses.
In the commendation, Barloco said Bailey consistently goes far beyond normal expectations. "Deby is reliable, forthright and conscientious. The tenacious, but exacting, follow-through exhibited in performance of her job on behalf of the institute has not gone unnoticed She does her job with an enthusiastic efficiency which always includes completing the all-important communication loop with her client at all stages of transaction processing."
