
UTSA hosts European cinema forum March 22-24 at Bijou at Crossroads
(March 22, 2004)--The University of Texas at San Antonio hosts "European Cinema in Transition: A Forum on Contemporary French, German, Italian and Spanish Film" March 22-24 at the Bijou at Crossroads Art Cinema, 4522 Fredericksburg Road.
The UTSA forum showcases eight recent films from Germany, Spain, France and Italy and offers San Antonio audiences the chance to view and discuss recent developments in European cinema. The event includes panel discussions with scholars and other experts on international cinema.

Free and open to the public, all films are in the original language with English subtitles. The event is hosted by the UTSA Department of Modern Languages and Literatures and the College of Liberal and Fine Arts and Santikos Theaters.
Sponsors of the forum are Santikos Theaters and the Houston cultural offices of the Embassy of France, the Consulate General of France and the consulates general of Germany, Italy and Spain.
The films in the forum are "Am I Beautiful?" (Germany, comedy, 1998,) "Smoking Room" (Spain, drama, 2002), "Under Construction" (Spain, documentary, 2001), "If I Were a Rich Man" (France, comedy, 2002), "Grill Point" (Germany, drama, 2002), "The Last Kiss" (Italy, drama, 2001), "Respiro" (Italy, drama, 2002) and "Seaside" (France, drama, 2002).
