Deadline to file for SGA offices is March 31
(March 24, 2004)--Students who want to run for a Student Government Association (SGA) officer or college representative position can file for the position of their choice at the Office of Student Leadership and Cultural Programs in the University Center on the 1604 Campus or at the Office of Student Activities at the Downtown Campus. The filing deadline is noon March 31.
Students planning to run for office should bring one check for the filing fee, $5, and one check for the deposit, $15. The filing fee is non-refundable, but the deposit is refunded if the candidate follows all campaign rules and regulations.

In order to run for office, students must have a GPA of 2.5 or higher and must pass a background check. The five available positions are president, vice president (internal), vice president (external), secretary and treasurer.
Students filing to be a college representative must also pass a background check and have a GPA of 2.25 or higher. Representatives are needed in the College of Business (2), College of Sciences (2), College of Liberal and Fine Arts (2), College of Education and Human Development (1), College of Engineering (1), School of Architecture (1) and College of Public Policy (1).
All candidates must attend a seminar from noon to 1 p.m. March 31 in the University Center Willow Room (2.01.12). Ballot positions will be determined at that time.
In order for students to become familiar with the candidates' views, an SGA presidential candidate forum is set for 12:30-1:30 p.m., Wednesday, April 7 in Business Building Room 3.04.18, 1604 Campus.
Students can vote online at Banner/ASAP beginning at midnight, Wednesday, April 14 and ending at 11:59 p.m., Thursday, April 15. Election results will be posted at noon, Friday, April 16.
