LeRoy Hurd, Kurt Attaway take home SLC honors
(March 8, 2004)--On the verge of leading the league in scoring for the second straight year, UTSA forward LeRoy Hurd, has been tabbed Southland Conference Player of the Year, becoming just the third Roadrunner in school history to earn the honor.
Meanwhile, guard Kurt Attaway picked up SLC Freshman of the Year honors, bringing the title home to the Convocation Center for the first time since Devin Brown earned the honor in 1999. Coincidentally, Brown's breakout season was also the last trip the Roadrunners made to the NCAA Tournament, a feat they are trying to repeat this season.
