UTSA names interim VP for business affairs
(May 5, 2004)--Ysabel Trinidad, associate vice president for business affairs at The University of Texas at San Antonio, will assume the position of interim vice president for business affairs while the university conducts a national search to fill the position on a permanent basis, UTSA President Ricardo Romo has announced.
Trinidad, who joined UTSA in 1994, currently is responsible for facilities services, business services and operations, facilities planning and development, the Historically Underutilized Business (HUB) program, intellectual property and technology transfer, materials management, property and casualty insurance, records management and retention, purchasing and safety programs.

As interim vice president for business affairs, she also will be responsible for budget, financial planning, financial affairs and university police.
"Ysabel Trinidad has worked closely with important higher education and community initiatives for UTSA and has worked effectively with the university system as UTSA has made impressive strides forward both programmatically and in reputation," said Romo. "Her leadership in facilities planning and construction has helped UTSA accommodate a record number of students."
Trinidad earned an M.B.A. from St. Mary's University and a bachelor of science degree in business administration from California State University - Fresno.
She is a member of the Beta Gamma Sigma National Honor Society in Business and Management, the National Association of College and University Business Officers (NACUBO) and the City of San Antonio Downtown Strategic Planning Group.
