UTSA College of Business names assistant dean
(June 16, 2004)--The UTSA College of Business recently named John Jennings assistant dean for undergraduate professional development.
Jennings, who has more than 24 years' experience in corporate marketing and executive development, began his new duties June 1. He was formerly vice president for business marketing with SBC Communications.

"This position was created to expand the level of professional development services that we offer to our undergraduate business students and to establish mutually-beneficial relationships with the business community," said Bennie Wilson, associate dean of the College of Business. "We are excited to have someone with John's vast business experience become a part of the College of Business team."
Jennings will be responsible for expanding internship and career placement opportunities in the College of Business. He also will advise undergraduate business students on career management and prepare longitudinal data on business student career placement.
"I look forward to building bridges to the business community and exposing them to specialized programs that we offer in the areas of information assurance, construction management, human resources and tourism, in addition to many other business disciplines that we offer," said Jennings. "Working in partnership with the university's Career Services Center and our faculty, I hope to prepare our students for meaningful internships and rewarding career opportunities."
Jennings holds a master of business administration degree from Southern Illinois University and a bachelor's degree from the University of Texas at Austin. He also attended the Fund Raising School at Indiana University.
