UTSA students selected for international program
(June 14, 2004)--Eight UTSA graduate business students recently returned from Canada and Mexico where they participated in an international management course offered by the UTSA College of Business.
Hosted in conjunction with the University of Calgary (Canada) and the Instituto Tecnologico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey (Mexico), the North American Summer School of Advanced Management (NASSAM) program provides students with an academic and cultural experience in foreign business environments.

The three-week journey from May 10-30 offered the opporunity to learn firsthand about the North American Free Trade Agreement as the students traveled from Mexico to San Antonio and finally to Calgary.
The class is designed to train leaders for the future who can function in a global village and work as business professionals and entrepreneurs under the North American Free Trade Agreement. The objective of the program is to expand the cultural, academic and educational horizons of the participants by providing an intensive three-week intercultural experience.
Students visited leading manufacturers, participated in educational seminars, attended cultural classes, developed international business contacts and developed a business plan in cross-cultural teams.
The NASSAM program, which began in 1996, is the first international graduate exchange program offered by the UTSA College of Business. The College of Business, accredited by AACSB International, The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business, is one of the 40 largest business schools in the nation with more than 5,600 enrolled students and 37 different graduate and undergraduate business programs.
