The car they designed was on display Friday at Sombrilla Plaza on the UTSA 1604 Campus.
The 530-pound car, designed and constructed by six students, looks and functions like a formula race car and is powered by a 600cc motorcycle engine.
Students built the car using raw materials and fabricated parts from the UTSA Power and Dynamics Laboratory on West Campus of the UTSA 1604 Campus.
To fund the project and competition, the team received donations from the Brown Foundation, the UTSA College of Engineering and family members.
