UTSA awards diplomas to 2,632 graduates
(Dec. 18, 2004)--More than 2,600 graduates crossed the stage Dec. 17 and 18 at The University of Texas at San Antonio Convocation Center as the fall semester concluded with four commencement ceremonies.
The College of Education and Human Development and the College of Public Policy kicked off the weekend festivities Friday evening with 694 graduates receiving diplomas and John T. Montford, SBC Communications senior vice president for state legislative and regulatory affairs, delivering the keynote address.

UTSA conducted three consecutive commencement ceremonies Saturday beginning with the largest
group of graduates as the College of Business took the stage. The ceremony featured 812 graduates along with speaker Kenneth Wilson,
president of Bank of America, San Antonio.
Gloria Rodriguez, founder, president and CEO of Avance, offered a few thoughts and words of wisdom to the 442 graduates from the College of Engineering and the College of Sciences.
The day's ceremonies concluded with 684 graduates gathering from the School of Architecture and the College of Liberal and Fine Arts to receive handshakes, hugs, diplomas and a final keynote address from Congressman Charles Gonzalez.
A total of 2,632 undergraduate students received diplomas during the four ceremonies with 555 master's students and 8 doctoral students earning degrees.
