Anderson's passion for Texas history comes alive through her involvement with the Preservation Texas Alliance and the Texas Historical Commission. She served on the Texas Commission for Women and was honored by the Board of Regents of the Texas State University System for nearly four decades of teaching and university administration in Texas.
She also is past state president of the Delta Kappa Gamma Society, a professional honor society of women educators. Anderson's teaching and administration experience provide her with the knowledge and background to lead a museum development board within the university setting.
The ITC, one of the three campuses of The University of Texas at San Antonio, is a museum dedicated to enhancing the understanding of cultural history, science and technology and their influence on the people of Texas.
