UTSA college, career forum involves universities statewide

(Feb. 3, 2005)--High school students and parents from San Antonio and South Texas will participate in the Alamo Career and Education Forum at 8:30 a.m., Saturday, Feb. 5 at the UTSA Convocation Center on the 1604 Campus. The event is free and open to the public.

The forum will provide information on college preparation as well as career opportunities for college graduates. Representatives from more than 20 colleges and universities will be on hand to answer questions on financial aid, admissions and academic programs. Panel sessions will cover career choices in media arts, business, science and technology, and public service.

As part of the forum, the UTSA Academy for Teacher Excellence and the Office of Community Outreach will host a videoconference. The videoconference will feature panel discussions on career options and information on university admissions, housing, financial aid and degree offerings. The program will be broadcast to students throughout the Rio Grande Valley.
