UTSA presents talk by Israeli U.N. representative

(Feb. 8, 2005)--The UTSA Department of Political Science and Geography and the Institute for Law and Public Affairs present Daphna Sharfman, human rights activist and former U.N. representative from Israel, speaking on "Human Rights in Israel" from 5:30 to 7 p.m., Wednesday Feb. 9 in Durango Building Room 3.206 at the UTSA Downtown Campus.

Chair of the Western Galilee College Department of Political Science, Sharfman was a member of the Israel delegation to the U.N. general assembly, head of the delegation to the U.N. Third Committee, 1994-1995, and a delegate to two U.N. world conferences on human rights. She has lectured on human rights and women in politics at universities throughout the United States.

Sharfman wrote "Women and Politics" and "Living Without a Constitution: Civil Rights in Israel."
