UTSA presents March 30 workshop on grant writing

(March 29, 2005)--The UTSA Office of Research Development will host a workshop on grant writing and funding opportunities with the National Institutes of Health from 2 to 4 p.m., March 30 in Humanities and Social Sciences Building Room 2.02.20 at the UTSA 1604 Campus. The workshop is free and open to the public.

"Funding Opportunities, Training and Career Development, and Grantsmanship" will be presented by Dennis Glanzman, head of the Theoretical and Computational Neuroscience Research Program of the National Institute of Mental Health, a division of the National Institutes of Health. The presentation will include opportunities for audience questions.

The presentation will focus on how to write a grant application, the grant review process, what a grant review committee looks for in an application, how to respond to a bad review of an application, business aspects of receiving a grant and NIH funding opportunities.
