UTSA's 'voice of the president's office' retires after 30 years

(March 1, 2005)--Sissie Spann, UTSA senior administrative associate in the Office of the President, was honored Tuesday on her retirement after 30 years of service to the university.

Spann, who is thought of by many as the voice of the president's office, is known for the pleasant smile and manner with which she greets visitors calling and visiting the UTSA Office of the President.

A reception, hosted in the Business Building University Room by President Ricardo Romo and Dr. Harriett Romo, offered UTSA community members the opportunity to thank Spann for her graciousness and helpfulness over the years.

"Sissie is a friend and colleague to all," said President Romo. "We thank her for her 30 years of service to UTSA and for her irreplaceable support in the Office of the President. We will miss her warm smile and pleasant voice."
