
UTSA's 'Wordfest' honors creative writing students
(March 23, 2005)--The UTSA Department of English, Classics and Philosophy hosts the third annual Wordfest at 7:30 p.m., Friday, March 25 in the Business Building University Room (2.06.04) at the 1604 Campus. The hour-long ceremony honors the accomplishments of UTSA creative writing students and features faculty members reading from their work.
At the event, UTSA student Lauren Ramon, winner of the Davidson-Shaddox Creative Writing Scholarship and Ruth Bohn Weissman Scholarship, will read a selection from her works.

Additionally, graduate students who won the Wendy Barker Creative Writing Award will read from their writings. Readers include Linda Winterbottom, first-place winner, Michelle Grajeda and Patricia Portales, second-place winners and Stephanie Amsel, third-place winner.
Among other faculty members, Associate Professor Ben Olguin and Professor Bonnie Lyons will share selections from their writing.
