A firewall blocks attempts to access individual personal computers by other computers. TSS will activate the firewall that comes with Windows XP Service Pack 2 software.
Once installed, users may receive pop-up windows from Windows XP alerting them that another computer is attempting to connect to their PC. If you are unsure whether to allow the connection, contact the OIT Help Desk at (210) 458-5538.
For more information, contact the Help Desk or visit the TSS Windows firewall policy Web site.
