UTSA Alumni Association elects board members
(May 9, 2005)--At its quarterly board meeting on the UTSA 1604 Campus, the UTSA Alumni Association recently elected four new members and renewed three members to its 21-member board of directors for three-year terms, announced Alumni Association President Linda Montgomery.
Returning to serve until 2008 are UTSA alumni Walter Ague ('90), Renée Crittenden-Garcia ('96), both of San Antonio, and Michael Kwiatkowski ('78), of Houston. Newly elected board members are Dinah Covert ('95), Rob Killen ('97), Deborah Bolner Prost ('79), and Joe Solis ('92), all of San Antonio.

Ague is policy assistant to the mayor of San Antonio. His degree is in public administration. Crittenden-Garcia received a B.A. in communications and is president and owner of Crittenden Communications LLC, a public relations, advertising and marketing consulting firm. Kwiatkowski received a B.S. in mathematics, computer science and systems design from UTSA in 1978. He is a senior manager with Shell Oil in Houston.
New board members are: Dinah Covert (M.A., '95), owner of Covert Enterprises, a consultant in licensing and accrediting facilities; Rob Killen (B.A., '97, political science) attorney and partner with the law firm, Castro & Killen; Deborah Bolner Prost (M.B.A., '79), owner of local marketing research and strategic planning firm, Prost Marketing Inc. and Joe Solis (B.B.A., '92, management), small business owner.
The UTSA Alumni Association was incorporated in 1977 with the mission to strengthen ties among UTSA's past, present and future students, and the community. The association supports programs and initiatives that promote and serve UTSA and its alumni -- now more than 59,000 worldwide.
Special events each year raise money for UTSA students including 28 general scholarships and four named scholarships.
