UTSA names assistant athletic director, marketing
(May 27, 2005)--The University of Texas at San Antonio announced Eric Buskirk has been named assistant athletic director for marketing and community relations.
Buskirk comes to UTSA from Lynn University in Boca Raton, Fla., where he was the athletic administration-marketing coordinator since October 2003.

In addition to developing a marketing plan for Lynn University, Buskirk coordinated development for athletics, as well as serving as coordinator of the university's fitness center and intramurals. He also was a professor in the College of Business and Management, where he taught macroeconomics and marketing.
From May to September 2003, Buskirk served as the assistant director of tournament operations for the South Florida PGA. He got his start in the business as a market research analyst for the NBA's Miami Heat from August 2002 through May 2003.
A graduate of Ohio State University in 2001 with a bachelor of science degree in sports management, Buskirk earned a master of business administration degree from Florida Atlantic University in 2004.
During his time at Ohio State, he worked as a coach, serving as men's and women's tennis coach at Columbus (Ohio) West High School from 1999 to 2001, and was the assistant men's basketball coach at Columbus' St. Charles Prep in 2000 and 2001. He served as the assistant crew coach at Lynn in 2003-2004.
A native of Columbus, Ohio, Buskirk lettered in four varsity sports at West High School - football, basketball, tennis and golf. He played on the same high school basketball and tennis teams as Michael Redd, who starred at Ohio State and now plays for the NBA's Milwaukee Bucks.
