UTSA and KLRN host panel on foster care issues

(June 7, 2005)--KLRN-TV and the UTSA Department of Social Work will host a program on the foster care system, "Aging Out: What's Next?," from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in the Durango Building Southwest Room (1.124) at the UTSA Downtown Campus. The program is free and open to the public.

The program, a community summit on transitional living for teens in the foster care system, will feature a panel discussion on the problems encountered by teens as they "age out" of the system and a resource fair for foster youth to learn about support services available in the community and statewide.

Panelists include Margie Quintanilla, Alamo Community College District; Linda Kappus, Casey Family Programs; Rebecca Durand, Roy Maas' Youth Alternatives TurningPoint program; Norma Davila, Education Source; Jennifer Talley, Project Quest; Randy McGibeny, Baptist Child and Family Services; and Cheronda Tillman, Youth Advocates in Action.
