Blood donations will help people such as four-year-old Micaela Poole, who was diagnosed three weeks ago with leukemia and is using blood and blood products. Micaela is the daughter of Ohelia Poole, a May graduate of UTSA, and Michael Poole.
"With the initial shock and horror of finding out that the sweetest child in the world, our Micaela, has been diagnosed with cancer, life has become even more precious than before," said Ophelia Poole. "Words cannot express our gratitude to all who have supported us in our time of need. Thank you."
All presenting donors must bring a photo I.D. and will receive a T-shirt or baseball cap and refreshments. Donors must be at least 17 years old, weigh at least 110 pounds and be in good general health. It is recommended to eat before donating.
