'UTSA Night' at Texas Folklife Festival is June 10

(June 6, 2005)--Before you firm up your plans for the coming weekend -- don't forget about "UTSA Night" at the Texas Folklife Festival from 5 to 11 p.m, Friday, June 10 at the Institute of Texan Cultures in downtown San Antonio.

UTSA students, faculty, staff and alumni will be treated to their own meeting place on-site -- the tent at Stage 9 near the fountain -- and the first 150 people to stop by each hour will get three free food/drink coupons compliments of the Office of the President.

Other special UTSA goodies include "Let's Get Rowdy" stickers and Rowdy Roadrunner temporary tattoos. At 8 p.m. there will be a 30-minute program featuring music from UTSA's own Mariachi Los Paisanos and visits from the UTSA mascot and UTSA cheerleaders.

At 9:30 p.m., Johnny Dee and the Rocket 88s, the featured musical group of the evening, will perform on Stage 9.

UTSA discounted tickets are $6 (adults age 13 and older) and $4 (ages 6-12). Tickets at the the gate are $10. There is a limit of 10 adult discounted tickets and no limit for children's tickets. The UTSA special offer is available only at the UTSA campuses.

The 34th annual Texas Folklife Festival opens Thursday, June 9 and runs through Sunday, June 12. UTSA discounted tickets are good for any festival date. Visitors to TFF will enjoy live music and dance on 10 stages, 150 food choices from 40 ethnic groups and 60 demonstrations of early Texas life.
