(July 8, 2005)--UTSA students, it's time to learn what it means to get Rowdy at the kick-off to the fall semester! Rowdy Roadrunner, that is.
The UTSA Roadrunner Days Web site is up and running with details about the special events set for Aug. 19-25.
- La Prensa Foundation is newest member of UTSA Lone Star Society
- UTSA alumna Jordan Kaufmann wins $50K for new stent-graft start-up
- UTSA begins new way-finding sign installation this summer at Main Campus
- USA Today: UTSA long jumper Tyler Williamson rescues three-year-old boy
The events offer students opportunities to preview UTSA campus life, learn about resources to ease the transition to college, experience the excitement of the growing campuses and meet other new students.
The Web site provides students with a listing of social and other activities during the orientation week.
Highlights of this year's Roadrunner Days include a concert by "American Idol" finalist, U.S. Marine and country star Josh Gracin and a visit from screenwriter and author Antwone Fisher.
Formerly known as Week of Welcome, Roadrunner Days marks the official kick-off of the new school year. Every August, UTSA welcomes new and returning students by offering the wide selection of free, fun and spirited events before the fall semester is in full swing.
