(Oct. 4, 2005)--Four leaders from San Antonio's high technology community will discuss career options and answer questions from students during a "Careers in Information Technology" panel at 2 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 6 in the Business Building University Room (2.06.04) on the UTSA 1604 Campus.

The interactive session, free and open to UTSA students, is co-sponsored by the UTSA College of Business and the Office of Career Services.

Panelists include Tom DeSot, vice president of operations at Digital Defense, Inc.; David Palmer, vice president of systems integration and integrity at Valero Energy Corp.; Frederick Mendler, director of customer care at Rackspace Managed Hosting; and Joel Patterson, technical manager of applications development at Computer Solutions, Inc.

The panel offers students undecided about their majors a chance to explore occupations through the eyes of professionals working in the field. Current information systems majors can use the session to gather career advice as they approach graduation and job hunting.

For more information, contact John Jennings, assistant dean for undergraduate professional development, at (210) 458-4327.
