Network outage scheduled during Oct. 22 repairs
(Oct. 3, 2005)--The UTSA Office of Information Technology (OIT) has purchased a new uninterrupted power supply (UPS) for the John Peace Library (JPL) Building central computer facility at the 1604 Campus. Installation of the new UPS will be the week of Oct. 17.
The current UPS that services JPL information technology equipment needs replacement because of its deteriorating condition and because replacement parts are no longer readily available.

In order to perform this critical installation, a required electrical outage affecting JPL computer operations has been scheduled for 12:01-5:30 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 22. Normal operations are expected to be in service by 8 a.m. that day.
The electrical outage will require all computer operations to shut down for this time period. All UTSA locations including the 1604 Campus, Downtown Campus, University Heights and the Institute of Texan Cultures will be affected.
Access to the Internet, Define, Banner, ASAP and logon at the 1604 Campus will unavailable during this time frame.
It is recommended that UTSA computer users back up computer files and close all computer operations before midnight, Friday Oct. 21.
