November 1, 2005
Dear UTSA community members and friends,
I am designating November 2005 as the first annual Diversity Month at The University of Texas at San Antonio -- an exciting time at the UTSA campuses to increase understanding among people of different races, backgrounds and experiences.

Diversity Month 2005, which has been coordinated by various UTSA departments and co-chaired by the Office of Institutional Diversity and the Office of Student Activities, will include an array of events both at the 1604 and Downtown campuses.
I encourage everyone to attend as many events as possible in order to discover the rich cultural diversity that makes UTSA a unique place to work and learn. Please join me and other UTSA administrators at the highlight event from 4 to 8 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 17 at the east lawn of the Convocation Center on the 1604 Campus where there will be information booths, ethnic food booths and a showcase of diverse UTSA identities and talents provided by our students, faculty and staff.
Activities throughout the month will include panel discussions, a culture fair, a showcase event, film showings, sports, food tastings and displays. Watch UTSA Today for stories about upcoming events.
I hope to see you at the events!
Sincerely,
Ricardo Romo
President, The University of Texas at San Antonio
