UTSA presents Black History Month events

(Feb. 6, 2006)--As part of the observance of Black History Month, a number of special events will be hosted in Februay at the UTSA 1604 and Downtown campuses. Most of the events are free and open to the public.
Events include a month-long exhibit, "HARAMBEE: The Prevalence of Ritual," which features paintings by African American San Antonio artists; a Feb. 6 discussion on misperceptions of African American culture; a Feb. 8 showing of the Spike Lee film, "Do the Right Thing"; a soul food extravaganza and "Jazz in the Plaza" on Feb. 9, among other activities.
