UTSA hosts Dr. Seuss birthday celebration March 2

(March 1, 2006)--The UTSA Office of K-16 Initiatives will host it's annual "Celebration of Dr. Seuss' Birthday" from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m., Thursday, March 2 at the Student Activities Center, Durango Building first floor on the Downtown Campus. The event is free and open to the public.

Activities begin at 6:30 p.m. with readings from Dr. Seuss books, including a bilingual reading from "Green Eggs and Ham." At 7 p.m., UTSA students will perform a short skit, "Oh, the Things You Can Think," based on the Dr. Seuss book, "Oh, the Places You'll Go." Additionally, the Cat in the Hat will make a special appearance.

After the program, cake will be served in celebration of Dr. Seuss' 102nd birthday. "Goody" bags and books will be given to elementary and middle school students at the event.
