UTSA's Tomás Rivera Center table shops help students with study skills

(March 17, 2006)--UTSA's Tomás Rivera Center for Student Success (TRC) is reaching out to students with "table shops," which are five-minute information sessions presented at tables at the UTSA campuses.
Table shops will be set up noon-1 p.m., March 22, at Sombrilla Plaza and noon-1 p.m., March 23, in the University Center, both with the theme "Spring Back from Spring Break."

In January and February, TRC tables were set up at busy locations on the 1604 and Downtown campuses, where TRC staff members invited students to take a few minutes to discuss time management and other study skills.
In addition to improving study strategies, the TRC gave out free Scantron sheets and asked students to fill out short surveys about their learning needs.
