By Marcia Mattingly

(May 5, 2006)--Congratulations, May graduates! We know how much hard work went into earning your degrees, and the Alumni Association wants to reward you. Look for Alumni Programs volunteers handing out a bright orange "goodie" bag at your commencement ceremony.
Each bag contains important information for you as new UTSA alumni and a gift from us -- a newly designed silver car medallion announcing that you are now "UTSA Alumni."
The medallions also are available for $5 at the Office of Alumni Programs, University Center Room 2.00.10, 1604 Campus, or at the UTSA Alumni Programs Web site.

You can play an important role at UTSA by joining the Alumni Association. You will support programs that generate more than $50,000 each year for student scholarships. The association encourages alumni to "come back" through a full calendar of events -- Connections Breakfasts, Homecoming, athletics events, fine arts performances and alumni mixers.
You will enjoy discounts on extended education classes, campus parking and membership in the UTSA Recreation Center, and you also will have access to the UTSA Library and the Career Services Job Bank. Additionally, members can participate in special insurance programs for life, health, auto and property, and apply for the UTSA Alumni Association affinity credit card.
Joining the Alumni Association is easy. There are no out-of-pocket expenses for your first year of membership when you sign over your $10 property deposit -- paid in your first semester at UTSA. Look for the signature form in your graduation bag -- and the special gift from the UTSA Alumni Association.
